Shea Butter Allergy
Share
Although shea butter comes from nuts of the shea tree, it is not the same as peanuts or tree nuts that commonly trigger allergic reactions. As such, I still think that it is my responsibility to mention that possible allergic reactions can include redness, itching, and swelling of the skin. You may find the following tips very helpful:
- If you're trying shea butter for the first time, apply a small amount to a small area of skin and wait 24 hours to see if any adverse reaction occurs.
- If you have a severe nut allergy or experience irritation, please consult your healthcare provider or dermatologist
- Always read the ingredients.
Until next time, stay smooth and glowing,
AJ
